Lanner V St Day Football match Wednesday 30th November 2016

On a chilly November evening after school, Summer, Josie, Morgan, Jayden, Daniel T, Archie, William L & Darcy travelled to St Day to play football against St Day School.

The Lanner Football Squad all worked hard together passing with skill and working well as a team to draw 3-3 with St Day. William Luscombe scored all three of the amazing Lanner goals and was well supported by the Lanner defence and attack.

The team were all really happy with the result and it was a very good match.

Football at Treleigh School

On Wednesday 16th November, we went to Treleigh School for a friendly football match.

We played really well as a team together and won 1:0.

Our striker Darcy scored in the first two minutes. Due to our excellent defending, we managed to keep the opposition from scoring any goals against us.  Will did a fantastic job in goal and Daniel tackled and passed well.  Summer showed off her passing skills and Jess blocked the ball beautifully.  Troy was good at defending and encouraged the team vocally.  Aaron stopped the ball from the other team well and Charlie C was brilliant on the wing and took some great long distance shots.

Mrs Pascoe said that any one of us could have been Man of the Match but everyone decided that the honor went to Archie because of his amazing pace, tackling and avoidance of the other teams players.

We must say a huge thank you to all of the people who helped with transport.

Summer, Darcy, Jess, Archie, Will, Troy, Aaron, Charlie C & Daniel

23rd June 2016 - Year 6 Hit The Surf

The Hit the surf programme gives the unique opportunity for children to be part of an exciting lifesaving course, which gives theory and practical lessons to 8–12 year olds in surfing and beach safety.

The course was run by trained and highly experienced RNLI lifeguards who can gave the students real examples of life threatening situations and how to get out of trouble in and around the sea.

The half day session included a safety talk, beach activities and surf and boarding skills.

They taught the children to:

always swim between the red and yellow flags

the role of a lifeguard

what to do in trouble

to have improved confidence in the water
